4 more killed in road crashes

At least for more persons, including freedom fighter, were killed and several others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Thursday.
In Panchagarh, Freedom fighter Mirza Abul Kalam was killed and four others, including another freedom fighter were critically injured when a truck hit a microbus near the Boda Bypass of Panchagarh-Debiganj highway on Thursday. The accident took place around 8am.
Abul Kalam was former commander of Muktijoddha Sangshad district unit.
Rabiul Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Panchagarh Police Station, confirmed the accident saying that a Panchagarh-bound truck struck a Rangpur-bound microbus carrying five people, leaving one dead on the spot and injuring four others.
In Chittagong, Rasheda Akhter (38), wife of an expatriate, was killed in a road accident in Mirsarai of Chittagong. The accident happened on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway on Thursday near the sufia Road.
The deceased was identified as Rasheda, a inhabitant of East Maliaish village of Mithanala union.
Mahfuzul Alam, Sub-Isnpector of Mirsarai Police Station confirmed the accident to Media.
In Sylhet, A pick-up van driver named Sahed Ali (30) was killed in the Goalabazar Kadamtala area under Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet.
The accident took place on Thursday on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.
Shahed was the son of late Zahir Ali from Jalalpur village in Sylhet. Officer-in-Charge of Osmaninagar Police Station Ali Mahmud confirmed the news media.
In Madaripur, an UP member named Montu Sikder (40) died at Kalkini of Madaripur district on Thursday.
In fact he faced a tragic accident on Wednesday and he was on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Mitu Sikder was the son of former freedom fighter Eskender Sikder.
