4 minors drown in Tangail, Rajshahi

The body of a seven-year-old boy was recovered from the Padma River near Diyarpur village under Chakrajapur union of Bagha upazila in Rajshahi early Tuesday, three hours after he drowned in the river. The deceased was identified as Shakib Hossain, son of Shaberul Mollah of the village. Azizul Azam, chairman of the Union said he was going to a local market through a boat. At one stage, the boat sunk down and Shakib went missing.
Later, being informed, a team of fire service from Rajshahi headquarters rused in and recovered the body from after three hours of efforts.
UNB from Tangail adds : Three minor boys drowned in two ponds at Chasabhadra and Kamlaeid areas in Nagarpur upazila on Monday evening. The deceased were identified as Tanjin, 9, son of Tofazzal Hossain and Imran Hossain, 11, son of Setab Mia of Chasabhadra area and Tamim, 3, son of Bulbul of Kamlaeid area. Moinuddin, officer-in-charge of Nagarpur Police Station, said Tanjin and Imran went to catch fish in the local Beel (water body) and droned in the deep level water. Sensing the matter, locals rescued them as senseless condition and taken to local hospital where the duty doctor declared them dead.
On the other hand, Tamim went to visit his grandfather house where he drowned in a pond, the OC added.

Fire guts M’bazar market

A numbers of establishments including factories and shops were gutted in a fire that broke out at a market in Sherpur Afrozganj area of the town on Saturday afternoon.
The fire ensued from an electric short circuit at a foam factory in Hazi Altafur Rahman market around 1 pm and soon spread to a nearby ice-cream factory, a poultry farm and a crockeries house, witnesses said.
