At least four minor children, two boys and two girls, drowned in two separate districts of the country on Tuesday.
Two minor boys died in a waterbody in Phulbari upazila of Dinajpur district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Plabon, 9, son of one Shipon Islam, and Rafin, 6, son of Md Raihan, residents of Shibnagar village in the upazila.
Locals said Rafin and Plabon were playing on the bank of a waterbody near their house. All on a sudden, they fell into the waterbody and drowned.
Fakrul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Phulbari Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
In Chittagang, two children drowned in a pond in Karnaphuli upazila of the district on Monday night.
The deceased have been identified as Fatema Begum, daughter of one Md Zamal, and Akhi Akhter, daughter of Md Kamal. Both were the residents of Juldha union of the upazila.
Rafiq Ahmed, Chairman of Juldha Union said that the deceased slipped into a pond nearby their house at one stage when they were playing beside it at night.
