Mobile court of Chittagong Port authority convicted four lighter vessels with Tk.80 thousand for creating obstructions to navigation of vessels in the port channel and haphazard berthing in the channel.
CPA Executive Magistrate Rokeya Parvin led the day long mobile court on Monday . CPA sources said these lighter vessels always creates obstruction to the movement of the big vessels , and most of the lighter vessels running without out the safety equipments and overloading.
As per inland shipping ordinance, lighter vessels viz. MV Prince of Ridwan, MV New Parvin, MV Tanveer-2 and MV Anabil Ligher were fined during the drive of the mobile sources said.
