Two of the passengers of an easy-bike were killed on the spot and 20 passengers of both easy-bike and the killer bus sustained injuries on Jhenaidah-Kushtia Highway under Kaliganj Upazila in Jhenaidah on Tuesday afternoon. Identity of the duo could not be known immediately, aid the police.
Locals and police in Kaliganj said, the accident taken place near Kalabagan area at about 3.30 pm when a Kushtia bound mail bus of Gorai Paribahan started from Khulna and an easy-bike met head on collision. The bus losing the control skidded off the road and fell in to a road side ditch.
UNB from Jessore adds: Two people were killed and another one injured in a head-on collision between a pick-up van and a human hauler (Leguna) at Beltala on Jessore-Satkhira highway in Sharsha upazila on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Mamun and Alamgir, both residents of Bagachra Bakurey village in the upazila. Quoting locals, police said the pick-up van of ‘Afil Group’ collided head-on with a Leguna in the area at about 6.30pm, leaving the human hauler’s driver Alamgir dead on the spot and two passengers-Mamun and Anis-injured.
