4 killed in road crashes

At least four persons were killed and several others critically injured in road mishaps in the country on Thursday.
Of the deceased, two died in Naogaon and two in Mymensingh district.
In Naogaon, a driver and a passenger of an auto-rickshaw were killed when a bus hit the auto on the Naogaon-Rajshahi Road in Manda upazila on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Taslim Uddin, 45, the auto-driver, and Azizul Islam, 40, a passenger; both residents of Satil village under Manda.
Police said that Taslim and Azizul died on the spot when a
Naogaon-bound passengers bus rammed the battery-propelled auto, which were en route to the upazila sadar.
The bodies were recovered from the spot and sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, Mahbub Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manda Police Station told the media.
In Mymensingh, Two madrasa girls met the death and seven others got injured in a road crash at Kalibari of Muktagachha upazila in Mymensingh district on Thursday afternoon.
Deceased Badhan Akhter, 8, and Iti Akhter, 10, were the students of Halima Sadia Mahila Madrasa in the upazila.
Ali Ahmed Molla, Officer in-Charge of Muktagachha Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
The OC said that a truck ran over a battery-run auto-rickshaw around 1:15pm, leaving one dead on the spot.
The critically injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Later one more died at the hospital, added the OC.
