4 killed in road accidents

Four persons were killed in separate road accidents in the city’s Jatrabari and Mugdapara areas on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Jahangir Hossain, 32, Kamal Hossain, 35, and Tarek Rahman, 19, and Habibur Rahman, police said.
Three persons were killed in the city’s Jatrabari in the morning when a covered van rammed into a rickshaw van.
Quoting the witnesses, Jatrabari Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aboni Shankar said that a Dhaka-bound covered van of Sundarban Courier Service hit the van at Kutubkhali under Jatrabari
P.S. at around 10:45am, leaving three of its passengers seriously injured. They were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) while on-duty doctors declared them dead.
Police immediately nabbed the covered van driver from the spot. He was identified as Saiful Islam, he said.
The OC said that the bodies were sent to the morgue of the DMCH for autopsy.
In another incident, a bus helper was killed at Mugdapara in the capital. The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman.
Habibur’s relative Helal said that a bus ran over him when he was on duty in the area at 9:00 am, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injures around 1:15pm, the DMCH’s Police Outpost In-Charge said.
