Four people were killed in separate road crashes across the country between late Friday and early on Saturday.
In Rajbari: A microbus driver was killed after his vehicle collided with a truck around 2am on Saturday, at the Dhaka-Khulna highway in the Sadar upazila’s Basantapur union area.
The deceased was identified as Biplob Hossain, 34, confirmed Ahladipur Highway Police OC Mohammad Delwar Hossain.
According to him, Biplob was on his way to Dhaka from Magura with passengers when the truck hit the microbus from the opposite end.
The passengers were given primary treatment while the driver and his assistant fled, said the police. In Faridpur: Two motorcyclists were killed in separate accidents in Bhanga Upazila late on Friday.
Bhanga Highway Police confirmed the accidents to the media.
Sajib Biswas, 25, died after a truck hit his vehicle from behind at the Dhaka-Mawa highway’s Mansurabad areas.
His pillion, Ashique, 30, who was injured, has been admitted to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex.
On the other hand, Tuhin Mollah was killed after a truck hit his motorcycle in Madaninagar Madrasa area near Bhanga Golchottor. His pillion, Sajjad, 18, has been severely injured.
Both Sajjad and Tuhin were taken to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
However, Tuhin died on the way, while Sajjad has been transferred to a hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment.
In Satkhira: Obaidul Gazi, 60, a water pump worker died after being run over by a bus on Saturday morning.
The incident was reported from the Satkhira by-pass road intersection.
According to locals, he was on his way to Satkhira town to work on a water line when the bus hit his motorcycle. He died on spot.
