4 killed in lightnings

At least four people including two sisters were killed and four others injured in lightning in separate district on Sunday.
In Moulvibazar, two sisters of a family were killed and two others injured in a lightning strike at Uttar Patanusha village under Kamalganj Upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Sadia Begum, 10 and Munni Begum, 4-daughters of one Junaed Miah of Patanusha village.
The incident took place in front of Patonusha Mohila Madrasa around 9:30am.
Local sources said that, a thunderbolt attached with rain struck four children, including Sadia and Munni, while they were playing under a tree nearby their house, leaving them injured.
The injured were taken to Moulvibazar Sadar hospital where doctors declared Sadia and Munni dead.
Ashiqul Haque, Executive Officer of upazila confirmed the news to media that the Upazila Administration gave Tk 20000 instantly for burial of the siblings.
In Sunamganj, a youth named Delwar Hossain, 17 was killed when a lightning hit him in a field at Khasipur area under Jamalganj upazila of the district on Sunday noon.
The deceased Delwar was the son of one Johar Miah of Khasipur.
In Kishoreganj, a day-labourer named Md. Rabbi Miah, 22, was killed and another was seriously injured when a lightning hit them at Balderghat area under Itna’s Haor of the district.
The deceased Rabbi was son of one Kadir Miah from Nandihati.
Md. Morshed Jaman, Officer in-Charge (OC) of Itna Police confirmed the matter to media.
