4 killed in Comilla road accident

Four people were killed and at least five others injured in separate road accidents on Dhaka-Cittagong highway
in Chauddagram and Burichong upazilas of the district on Wednesday.
Police officials said an accident took place in Kashipur area of Chauddagram upazila when a Comilla-bound bus of ‘Jamuna paribahan’ from Feni collided head-on with a cattle leaden pickup van, leaveing its driver dead on the spot, and three others critically injured.
The deceased were indentified as Kibria, 25 son of Foyaz Ullah , a resident of Vimpur village of Chatkhil upazila.
The injured were rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital where a man, who is yet to be identified, succumbed to his injuries.
Nazim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Noabazar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
In another accident, a sand leaden truck collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Kabila of Burichong upazial at noon, leaving its four passengers injured.
The injured were rushed to Eastern Medical College Hospital where Emon, 10, and the auto rickshaw driver, whose name is yet to be ascertained, succumbed to their injuries.
