Four people were killed in separate road accidents in Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital.
An elderly man and his grandchild were killed yesteday morning after being struck by a local vehicle Nosimon in Niribili area while two rickshaw van drivers were killed as a speeding passenger bus, coming from opposite direction, smashed their vehicles in front of Ashulia police station Friday night, police sources said.
The deceased were identified as Rupchan Mia, 65, his grandchild Shahinur, 8, rickshaw van drivers Azad, 37, and Abdul Barek, 38.
Police seized the Nosimon and arrested its driver, while the bus driver managed to flee away with his vehicle.
Police recovered the bodies of the victims and sent those to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Two separate cases were lodged in this regard.
