Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested four persons when they were cheating with the people by introducing themselves as the members of ‘Jwin Emperor’ gang in the city’s Demra area on Sunday.
They are Ashraful Islam, 35, Taj Uddin, 35, Jahid Siddiqui, 33, and Mahfuj Uddin, 18, cop official said.

Minhazul Islam said that CID Demra unit arrested the four members of “Jwin Emperor” gang on Saturday night.
He said, “The detainees are member of different swidling gangs based in Gaibandha. They trick people by offering them fake information about alleged valuable assets in exchange of money. But they refuse to pay money to the ‘Jwin Emperor’, they receive threats and intimidations over phone.”
“Frauds posing as ‘Jwin Emperor’ or the supernatural beings were busy throughout the Ramadan exploiting the religious sentiments of the Muslims by duping them and demanding money with late-night phone calls,” the cop official said.
The official said that the Police recovered Tk 22 lakh in cash, some gold ornaments and also seized a micro bus from their possession.
