4 journos and 3 wives asked to surrender before trial court

The High Court has ordered to surrender of seven persons including four journalists of Chattogram in an ACC case alleging various irregularities including allotment of plots through irregularities.
They have to surrender to the trial court by December 24. The lawyer said the court heard the ACC counsel Khurshid Alam Khan.
The Court came up with the order after hearing ad-interim bail application on Monday.
Justice. Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Ahmed Sohail’s Virtual High Court bench passed the order.
Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik represented the state.
Lawyer Shafi Uddin Chowdhury on behalf of the accused heard the bail application. Later, AKM Amin Uddin Manik said that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against four journalists and 4 others, including their wives, for alleged irregularities including allotment of plots through irregularities.
Among the seven, are Mahbub Ul Alam, former chairman of Chattogram Journalists Co-operative Housing Society Limited, Nizam Uddin Ahmed, former secretary, Shahid Ul Alam, former treasurer, Nirmal Chandra Das former joint secretary and his wife Tapti Das, Taslima Khanam, wife of Shahid Ul Alam and Howne Ara wife of Nizam Uddin Ahmed applied for bail in advance.
Chattogram Journalist Co-operative Housing Society is located in Shershah area of Bayezid police station. The lawsuit alleges that during their tenure, the society approved the design of the mosque and cemetery, including the occupation of the surrounding govt land and the design of the “fabricated through abuse of power” formulation without the approval of the CDA.
Later, three plots were allotted to the names of their wives of three journalists Shahid Ul Alam, Nirmal Chandra Das and Nizam Uddin Ahmed whereas they are not members of the Society.
