A court here on Monday placed four members of Jama’at-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a 10-day remand in connection with the snatching of three convicted JMB militants from a prison van in Trishal upazila killing a policeman.
Judge Farhana Yeasmin of the 4th Cognisance Court passed the order when Detective Branch of police produced them before her court, said officer-in-charge of Mymensingh DB Majedur Rahman. The four JMB men are AL Amin, Ziaul Haque, Ajmir and Golam Sarwar. Miscreants snatched the three convicted JMB members-Rakib Hasan Russel, Boma Mizan and Salahuddin-from a prison van killing a policeman at Signboard in Trishal on February 23.
However, one of the snatched JMB men-Rakib Hasan Russel – was held hours later. Rakib was killed in a gunfight with police in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail the following day.
