Rapid Action Battalion arrested four Jubo League activists with arms and ammunitions from Mahilara of Gournadi under Barisal district on Tuesday evening.
The arrested JL activists were identified as Salil Guha Pintu, Dipak Nandi, Shipon and Abu Sayed.
Salil was younger brother of upazila JL joint-convener and Mahilara union parishad chairman Soikat Guha Piklu.
Captain Abul Bashar, company officer of RAB-8, said the afore said four were arrested from a cable network distribution office room at Bilbagram under Mahilara union of Gournadi.
One foreign made revolver with six round ammunitions was recovered from the arrestees. They would be handed over to police after interrogation lodging a case under arms act, Captain Bashar told the journalists.
Soikat Guha Piklu, brother of upazila JL joint-convener and Mahilara union parishad chairman, said following misunderstanding with local police station officer in charge on Tuesday noon, Salil was trapped and staging a drama of arms recovery handed over to RAB on Tuesday evening.
