At least four people were injured in a clash between two groups of the Awami League (AL) in Gurudaspur area of Natore. The incident took place in Khakradaha area of Dharabarisha union of the upazila at around 8 pm on Wednesday night.
Locals said that there had been a long-running dispute between Awami League supporters Ripon Sarkar and Habib Mandal over dominance in the area, Due to this,both sides began clash on Wednesday night with domestic sharp weapons. Supporters of the Habib group fired several rounds of bullets during the clash.
At that time Ripon Sarkar was shot and at least 4 more people from both sides were injured. Among the injured, Ripon has been shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and others have been admitted to the local health complex.
