4 indigenous people ‘kidnapped’ in Bandarban

Four indigenous people including the head of Tangkhang Para of Thanchi in the district were reportedly abducted by miscreants on Saturday noon.
The abductees are: Athui Mong Karbari, 55, head of Tangkhang Para, his wife Apruma Marma, 45, Paichha Pru, 60 and his wife.
Chathui Marma, elder brother of Athui Mong, said Athui’s son Mong Mong Marma, who used to work with the ‘Arakan Army’, fled away with Tk 8 lakh from the force.
Chathui alleged that the four people were abducted in connection with the incident.Jalal Ahmed, second officer of Thanchi Police Station, said police and joint forces were working to rescue the kidnapped people.
2 held with 9,920 Yaba pills: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested two suspected drug peddlers along with 9,920 Yaba tablets from Khuniapalong area in Ramu upazila on Saturday.
The arrestees were identified as Md Rasel, 22 and Md Ayub, 20.
Being tipped off, a team of Rab-7 conducted a drive in the area around 5:45pm and seized the Yaba tablets from a CNG-run auto rickshaw, said a RAB press release.
