Police have arrested four suspected members of the banned extremist group Harkatul Jihad Bangladesh (HuJI) from Gazipur.
They were caught with 14 petrol bombs and four crude bombs from Nandoain area of Gazipur
Harunur Rashid, Superintendent of Police (SP), said in a press briefing on Friday afternoon.
The arrested men were identified as Khairul Islam from Joydebpur, Golam Kibria from Mymensingh district, Aminul Haq and Shahidullah from Tangail district.
Tipped off, a team of DB police conducted a drive in an abandoned building in the area and arrested the four along with 14 petrol bombs, four crude bombs, some sharp weapons and ‘jihadi books’, said Harunur Rashid.
Of them, two are engineers and two others were the students of International University of Technology, he said. They gathered there for the purpose of carring out sabotage activities, claimed the Police Super.
