Police on Tuesday conducted a drive in the city’s Jatrabari area and arrested four persons, including a woman, with fake Bangladeshi currency notes worth Tk two lakh and seventeen thousand.
The arrested men and woman have been identified as Razu Ahmed, 24, his wife Laboni Akter, 22, Khasru, 28, and Jalal, police said.
Jatrabari Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abani Sankar confirmed
the matter and said that police arrested them from the residence of Razu at Jatrabari at around 2:30 pm based on the secret information. They found the fake currencies notes under the bed of a room in the house.
He said that they had been propelling their fake currencies business for four years in the city’s various shopping malls.
Filing of a case was under process, the OC said.
