The members of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested four miscreants with firearms from the city’s Jatrabari and Mirpur areas on Monday night.
The arrested persons have been identified as Jabed Ahmed, 19, Kutti Mia, 25, Mahfuz Uddin, 30, and Sekandar Sikder, 24, police said.Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Masudur Rahman said, “A team of detective police moved in Saidabad under Jatrabari Police Station and arrested three persons when they were trying to rob the targeted people at gun point.”
The cop personnel also recovered three pistols and few swords from their possession, the police official said.
Meanwhile, another team of Detective Branch searched a house at Pallabi in Mirpur around 11:45pm, the DC said.
They recovered a pistol and two rounds of bullets from the house, he said.
The arrested persons were being interrogated under police custody, the police official said.
Two separate cases have been registered with Jatrabari and Pallabi Police Stations.
