Detective Branch of Police arrested four persons with about 35,000 contraband Yaba tablets in the capital’s Jatrabari area early Thursday.
The arrested persons were identified as Sukkur Ali, Harun-ur-Rashid, Rezaul Karim and Harun.
Deputy Commissioner of Detective Branch (South) Mashruqur Rahman Khaled said that the police arrested them after searching at 2:30am.
Mashruqur Rahman Khaled told reporters at the DMP media centre that they were carrying the tablets in a new Nissan SUV.
“During primary interrogation, they admitted to peddling drugs after a bus driver brought those to Dhaka,” he said.
A case was filed against them with the Jatrabarhi Police Station.
