A team of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) on Tuesday arrested four people along with 2,000 pieces of Yaba, foreign pistol and 6 rounds of bullets in raid at Zafarabad in the capital’s Mohammadpur.
Among the arrestees, two were identified as local Yaba trader Pichchi Monir and his associate Akther.
Acting on a tip-off, DNC members conducted a raid at a house in Zafarabad area under Mohammadpur around 7:30pm with the help of the local police station. When the team went to arrest the Pichchi Monir at that time tried to shoot them with a pistol.
Four people, including Monir, were later arrested from the house. Around two thousand pieces of Yaba were also recovered from their procession.
It has been learned that one of the detainees Akhtar came to deliver their Yaba consignment.
A case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act in this regard against the Yaba traders, DNC officials added.
