Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives arrested four alleged drug peddlers and recovered 1,464 bottles of contraband phensedyl from Benapole bordering areas on Sunday.
On a tip-off, a team of BGB-49 Battalion conducted different drives at Galachipa Check post in Sadipur and Shikri area of Benapole and arrested the drug peddlers with the phensedyl, said commanding officer of BGB-49 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Selim Reza.
The arrested were identified as Mizan, 30, Zahidul Islam, 21, residents of Sadipur village, Ali Mohon, 25, of Baro Achra village and Mizanur Rahman, 35, a resident of Shikri village in Benapole Port police Station of the district.
Separate cases were filed with the police station in this connection.
