Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained four persons on charge of running two unlicenced television channels in the city’s Badda area on Saturday morning.
The arrested men are Shamim Ahmed, Borhan Uddin, Ibrahim Hossain, and Rashedul Hasan.
The illegal channels are Channel H Bangla and Neha TV, RAB official said.
Mizanur Rahman Bhuyian, Assistant Director of Legal and Media Wing of RAB, said, ” A team of RAB-1 conducted a drive in house No 32/5/A near Subastu Tower in Shajadpur of
Badda in the morning and arrested them.”
The elite force members also seized a huge collections of pirated CDs and other instruments from their possessions, the RAB official said.
They aired different programmes thru cable operator without approval of the government, he said.
They were being interrogated in this connection, the elite force official said.
