Police in Khagrhachharhi have detained four persons over the murder of local BNP leader Badal Khan who was found murdered at the hill tract district’s Dighinala Upazila.
Md Nasir, Nasir Hossain, Md Siddik and Anwar Hossain, all residents of the Upazila, were held on Tuesday, said Dighinala police OC Md Mizanur Rahman. Forty-five-year old Badal Khan’s body, with its throat slit, was found inside the tea stall he ran at the Upazila’s Boalkhali Union on Monday.
Badal Khan’s brother-in-law Abu Bakar Siddiq filed a case the same day with the local police.
The victim’s wife Kulsum was found unconscious on the spot, who is now being treated at the hospital in the Khagrhachharhi town. “She is out of danger now, but we are yet to speak with her considering her physical condition,” OC Rahman told bdnews24.com. Badal, who was a member of the BNP’s Dighinala unit, contested in the recently held Boalkhali Union Parishad polls as a member candidate.
