Law enforcers arrested at least four persons on charge of gang-rape of a Ready-made Garment Worker (RMG) in Savar of Dhaka.
The detainees are identified as Shawon, 20, from Manikganj, Sumon, 32, from Noakhali, Ilyas Hossain, 18, from Shariatpur, and Arif, 30, from Naogaon. They all are residents of Namagenda Colony under Savar Municipality.
Local sources said that the 22-year-old girl went to meet her boy friend on her way to home from workplace in Ulail area on Thursday evening. Seeing it, four miscreants walloped the man and then gang raped the girl.
Savar Police Station Officer in-Charge (OC) AFM Sayed confirmed the news to The New Nation and said that the victim was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s One-Stop Crisis Center for medical test.
Following the victim’s written complaint to police station, police conducted drives in different areas of Savar on Friday evening, and nabbed the four, the OC added.
