A court here on Thursday sentenced four people to life term imprisonment for killing a man in 2009.
The lifers are Rahim Uddin, 45, son of Asmat Ali, Sabuj Miah, 40, son of Gias Uddin, Kazimuddin, 35, son of Amjad Ali and Diren Sangma, 48, son of Faresh Rangdi- all hail from Baromari village in Durgapur upazila.
All the convicts were fined Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer two years more rigorous imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Satyaban Hajong, a resident of Baromari village in Durgapur upazila, was beaten to death by the convicts on his way to his relative’s house on April 23, 2009 following previous enmity.
