The Special Judge Court-5 of Dhaka on Sunday awarded life-term imprisonment to four persons, including a bank manager on charge of embezzlement of money in their absence. The court also fined them Tk four crore.
Judge Aktaruzzaman of the Court pronounced the verdict. The convicts are Khan Ahsan Ertazul Islam, former Darussalam branch manager of Uttara Bank, former foreign exchange in-charge of the bank Mizanur Rahman, Chairman of M/S Apparel Sources Limited Abdullah

Al Mamun and Factory Managing Director Md Saiful Alam. The convicts imported raw materials of Tk 4,01,90,706 opening back-to-back LC. Later, they sold their products in the open market instead of exporting abroad and embezzled the amount.
