A Dhaka court yesterday sentenced four people to 10 years’ imprisonment each in a case lodged over possessing 1.23 lakh Yaba tablets.
Metropolitan Sessions Judge of Dhaka KM Imrul Qayesh delivered the verdict. The convicts are: Hossain Ali, Jasim Uddin, Salauddin and Mizanur Rahman.
The case was filed with Hazaribagh Police Station after the recovery of 1.23 lakh Yaba tablets on March 15, 2018, and police submitted the charge-sheet of the case to the court against the four accused on November 14 of the same year. The court on different dates recorded the depositions of 12 witnesses out of the total 18 and later they were cross-examined in the case.
