The Department of Environment (DoE) on Sunday fined four institutions in Gazipur and Comilla Tk 86 lakh for violating environment laws.
After a hearing at the DoE’s Dhaka headquarters, RL Yearn Dyeing Ltd and Rahmat Knit Dyeing & Finishing Mills Ltd of Gazipur were fined Tk 75 lakh for operating without
environment clearances and without installing effluent treatment plants (ETPs), said a handout.
Five S Knit Composite Mills Ltd and Majumdar Washing Plant in Narayanganj were fined Tk 11 lakh on same charges.
