A Dhaka Court granted bail to four environmentalists on a bond of Tk 2,000 each on Tuesday in a case filed for creating chaos after entering the Dhanmandi playground illegally.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Salam passed the order at about 12:15pm after the four accused appeared in his court and prayed for bail saying that the allegations brought against them were not true.
The accused environmentalists are Mobassher Hossain, former President of the Institution of
Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB); Iqbal Habib, Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon (BAPA); Qumrunnahar Dana, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association and Architect Salma A Shafi.
