Drug addict youth among four found dead in separate incidents in Chandpur in last 72 hours.
In the first incident, Atokai and drug addict youth was found dead beside SB Khal in the district town on Sunday morning. He was identified as Yusuf Beparialias Khoka (25), son of Tajul Islam Bepari hailing from Tamta area under Shahrasti Upazila. He married one Shahinur Akter three months ago and then he moved his family to 5 No. Ghat in the town and lived in a rented house. He used to collect leavings and broken items here and there in the town and in the evening sold them to Bhangari Shop near Pal Bazar and thus maintained his family.
It is presumed that on Saturday evening afterday’s work, he took drugs beside the canal under the pucca bridge and at one stage he fell sick and lay down and later died on the slope of the khal.
On getting the report of a body lying amid garbage on the slope of SB Khal under the pucca bridge on Sunday morning, Sadar Model Thana Sub Inspector Shadhan Chandra Nath recovered the body and took it to Thana premises and then sent it to the General Hospital for post mortem. Some drugs were also recovered from the spot-added SI Shadhan Chandranath.
A case was filed in this connection.
On the other hand, in three separate incidents, three children drowned in separate incidents in Hajiganj Upazila on Friday and Thursday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Abdullah (2)- son of Md Jakir Hossain of Congaish areaand Saima Akter (2)- daughter of expat Monir Hossain of Budda village under Sadar Union in Hajiganj Upazila drowned in the homes’ ponds while playing on Friday afternoon while Sakibul Hasan (7)-son of Abul Kashem of Nowhata village of the same UZ also drowned on Thursday afternoon while playing beside home’s pond. Contacted, confirming the death reports, Hajiganj Upazila Health and FP Officer Dr Shoayib Ahmad Chistysaid, they were all rushed to this hospital but they were found dead.
