 A 4-day long REHAB fair will begin in the port city from June 18 next at Chittagong Club premises.
State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed is expected to inaugurate the fair as Chief Guest.
 The concluding session of the fair will be graced by the state Minister for Power and Mineral Resources Md. Nasrul Hamid as chief guest. This was disclosed at a press meet arranged yesterday at Chittagong Club hall. The press meet was told that 67 real estate developers including 16 material producers and 4 leasing company will participated in the fair. Sponsors of the fair are – Comfort Homes Ltd, Epic Properties Ltd, Rankins Properties Ltd, CPDL, MDC and RF Builders Ltd.
This is the 8th REHAB fair in the port city, the press meet told. The fair will remain open from 11 am to 9 pm everday . The entry ticket is fixed Tk.50 per persons. Among others, General Secretary of REHAB Md. Wahiduzzaman, Chairman of REHAB, Ctg Zone Engr. Abu Sufian, Convenor of REHAB Ctg Fair Engr. Iftikar Hosen, Joint Convenor Abdul Kader Zilani were present on the occasion.
In this connection a round table discussion on Trends & Development possibilities of Bangladesh Real Estate Sector was held at the auditorium of Chittagong Club on Wednesday last.
REHAB, Chittagong chapter and Protom Alo jointly organized the RTC. Mr.Bishajit Chowdhury, Joint Editor of Protom Alo was the moderator. Chairman of Chittagong Developmenty Authority M. Abdus Salam presided over it.
 State Minister for Land Ministsry Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed was expected to join the RTC but could not join due to his illness. Among others President of Chittagong chamber Mahbubul Alam, Acting President of REHAB Rabiul Hoque , first vice president of BGMEA Nasiruddin chowdhury , Chairman of IEB, Chittagog chapter Engr. ManzareAlam, Engr. MA Rashid, Arch. Taslim uddin chowdhury, Arch. Sohail M Shakoor, Dr. Moinul Islam Mahmud, Managing Editor of Dainik Azado Wahid Malik participated the RTC as discussants.
 The speakers emphasized the need for resolving the prevailing accommodation crisis in the city with govt patronization and they called upon the REHAB members to construct low cost apartment that can afford by the middle and low income group people . Bank loan with single digit interests to REHAB members and the apartment buyers also stressed in the discussions. The speakers also urged the REHAB to built up township in the outskirts of the city instead of land development.
The speakers also blamed some of the REHAB members those are deceiving the beneficiaries I the name of allotment of apartment. Most of the discussants claimed that non-REHAB members should not be allowed to run the real estate development business as they mostly argued and proper policy for the real estate development sector should be formulated, speakers added.
