A four-day International Plastic Fair is going to begin tomorrow (Thursday) to make the plastic products familiar with the people.
Industries Minister Nurul Mazid Mahmud Humayun is expected to inaugurate the 14th edition of the fair in city’s International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).
Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) President M Jasim Uddin on Monday announced the details of the fair at a press conference at its office.
He said a total of 480 companies of 19 countries would take part at 780 stalls. “Compared to previous edition of the fair, total number of stalls has been increased by 20 percent where different types of products, machineries and raw materials would be displayed in 15 categories,” said Jasim.
The BPGMEA President claimed the plastic industry is generating a business of Taka 25,000 crore and around 12 lakh people are involved in this sector.
