A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has sealed and fined four companies for selling unsafe water in Mirpur area of the capital on Tuesday.
 “Those companies are stealing WASA water and selling unsafe water to offices, shops and homes,” said RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam.
RAB-4 and Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI) jointly conducted the operation in Mirpur and Kalsi areas.
He said that the factories of Nodi Food and Beverage and Tabassum Drinking Water at Kalsi and Sonali Drinking Water at Mirpur were sealed.
Besides, Nodi Food and Beverage has been fined Tk one lakh and Safe International Tk two lakh for their unholy activities.
On addition, the police have been directed to file regular cases against these two companies.
The Executive Magistrate said that those companies had cheated customers saying their water were pure. But they have directly bottled stealing WASA water and unpurified water collected from different sources.
