Four children have suffered burn injuries in a fire at a leather factory in Dhaka’s Hazaribagh area on Thursday.
The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia, In-charge of the hospital’s police outpost.
Of the injured, the condition of three was stated to be critical by the DMCH doctors. Tanjid received 15% burn injury, Hedayetullah 14% and Sajib 61%, said the doctors.
The fire was caught at the Tanjid leather factory at Bagalpur Lane of Company Ghat under Hazaribagh police station at about 6:30pm.
Local sources said that the children were working in the factory while a woman was cooking near them with a gas stove. Suddenly, the fire broke out injuring four children including two child labourers.
