Staff Reporter: Charge sheet of Sagira Morshed murder case have been framed by Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) against four people.
PBI Inspector Md Rafiqul Islam on Thursday submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in the capital.
The four accused are Sagira Morshed’s brother-in-law Hasan Ali Chowdhury, his wife Sayedatul Mahmuda alias Shahin, brother-in-law (wife’s brother) Anas Mahmud alias Rezwan and their hired killer Maruf Reza.
During the investigation, all the four accused given confessional statement describing the killing.
On July 25, 1989, the victim Sagira, 34, was killed in front of the Viqarunnisa Noon School on the capital’s Bailey Road where she was going to by a rickshaw to pick up her daughter Saharat.
Abdus Salam Chowdhury, husband of the victim, filed a murder case against some unknown people with Ramna Police Station. Following a High Court order, the trial proceedings of the case had been stayed for the last 28 years.
