Pre-hartal violence: 4 buses torched Bomb attack on policemen, patrol van

Pro-hartal supporters torched at least four buses in the capital city on Saturday ahead of 72-hours hartal called by the BNP-led 18-party alliance today [Sunday]. In the capital, a private car was set ablaze at Puranapaltan at about 5:15 pm.
Miscreants hurled crude bombs targeting a patrol van of police at Fulbaria in the city yesterday evening. Two persons received bullet injuries when police opened fire to disperse the miscreants.
The hartal supporters also exploded 30 to 40 crude bombs and 10 handmade bombs around the BNP’s Nayapaltan central office at about 5:30 pm.
Miscreants torched two passenger buses at Rayerbagh and Tejgaon industrial areas Saturday night. No casualty was reported in the incidents as the passengers managed to get down from the buses immediately.
Miscreants also hurled at least two cocktails in front of Art Building of Dhaka University around 8:30pm.
In the morning, a police sergeant named Golam Maula was injured when miscreants hurled crude bombs targeting him at Shyamoli area in the city around 8:00am.
One of the bombs hit Golam Maula’s head. He was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition.
Miscreants hurled a crude bomb in Shahbagh around 8:00pm when a signature campaign against the recent violence organized by Ganojagaron Manch at Shahbagh in the city. At least six people were injured in the blast.
