Police recovered six bodies, including four bullet-riddle corpses, from two upazilas of Jashore district in last 40 hours.
The law enforcers could not identify the bodies. The corpses had been sent to the Jashore General Hospital morgue for autopsies, Police said.
Police recovered two bullet-hit bodies from Jashore-Monirampur Zonal Road near Kanaitola area, said Jashore Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Apurba Hasan.
Meanwhile, Police also recovered the bodies of two unidentified men who were killed in an alleged gunfight between two gangs of criminals in Monirampur Upazila in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The dead were aged between 55 and 45 but could not be identified.
The gunfight took place on the Pulerhat-Rajganj Road in Gangulia Jamtala area around 2:00am, said Mokarram Hossain, chief of Monirampur Police Station.
Two bullet-ridden bodies were recovered from the scene and taken to Jashore General Hospital for autopsies.
“One of the dead was wearing a shirt and trousers while the other was in lungi and a shirt. They had been shot in the head,” he said.
Sharp weapons and ropes were recovered from the scene.
Earlier, Police recovered two bodies lying on Barinagar-Mothuirapur railway track under Jashore Sadar upazila on Monday afternoon.
Police suspected that miscreants threw the bodies on the railway track after killing them in the area.
