Four Bangladeshi pilgrims died and nine others were injured in separate road accidents in Saudi Arabia.
The dead are Julhas, 50, Rashed, 65, Abul Bashar, 65, and Rashedul Islam Babu , 55.
The injured are SM Abul Khayer, 41, Tarif Irtija, 12, Momtahin Islam, 18, Mosatara Akter, 43, Nazmul, 39, and Shafiul Alam, 36.
The other three injured are
Mustarina Akhtar, Muntahin Islam and Zarif Iftejar.
The road accidents occurred on Tuesday, according to family members and Bangladeshi migrants.
“We have received the news of the deaths in the accidents. We will take necessary steps to collect information,” said Maksudur Rahman, a hajj official at Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah.
Julhas hailed from Mirpur’s Kachukhet in Dhaka, Rashed from Dhaka’s Mohammadpur, Bashar from Gopalganj and Babu from Gaibandha.
Julhas, Rashed and Bashar died around 7:30am local time when they were on their way to the Jeddah airport from Medina, said their family members.
About 200km into their journey, a wheel of their microbus exploded, causing the accident which left the three dead on the scene, Shafiul, who was injured in the same accident, told bdnews24.com.
All of the victims went to Saudi Arabia to perform umrah hajj through Angel Travel Agency.
They were scheduled to board a flight of Saudi Airlines at 4:35pm on Tuesday local time to fly back home.
