Four BCL activists handed over to police on Wednesday early morning after in connection of attempt to violate two female passengers and injured one protestor of their crime on board of a triple-deck launch plying on Dhaka-Barisal route. The detained four young stalkers named as Maxwell Ratan Baroi, son of Michel Baroi, Rabbi and Razin, sons of Jasim Mia, Tahmid, son of Nuruzzaman, aged about 24-26, were identified by locals as BCL activists of Ward No -17 and 2 of BCC. One male passenger of the launch identified as Md. Masud, son of Azahar Ali, from Alampur of Kushtia, was injured by beating of the stalkers while he protested the crimes of the miscreants and admitted at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital. Victim girls said that after attending university admission coaching at Dhaka, they were retuning Barisal in a cabin of triple-deck launch MV Kirtankhola-2 on Tuesday night.
Since boarding on the vessel first-two of the arrested four stalkers, traveling in another cabin of the same launch, started to tease them.
After informing the matter to cabin boys, no action was taken by the launch staffs or Ansar-guards to ensure safe and secured journey of the passengers.
At about 3:00 AM when they went out of the cabin for going to toilet, the stalkers chased and tried to violet them entering inside the cabin.
One of the male passengers of the launch coming forward tried to save the victims, but injured by severe beating of the stalkers.
