Chittagong Bureau :
Four bakery confectionery factory fined with penalty of Tk.3.50 lakh for production of bakery and confectionery items in an unhealthy environment and running the backery without the approval of BSTI.
The mobile court during their routine drive during the Ramadan month against the food adulteration , traced this bakeries in Mirsarai inChittagong on Sunday. Mirsarai Upazila Magistrate led the mobile court .
Asstt commissioner of Land, Mirsarai accompanied by police forces jointed the mobile team. Inspector of BSTI Billal Hosain was also present during the drive.
Mobile court sources said these bakeries are producing food confectionery items without the legal approval of BSTI. The convicted bakeries are Madina Bakery, Shahjahan Bakery, New Makkah Foods fined with Tk.one lakh each and Murad Bakery fined with Tk.50 thousand, sources said.
At the same time, these bakeries closed with seal and lock by the mobile team.
