Chittagong Metro-politan Police (CMP) arrested four alleged robbers from city’s Andarkillah area under Kotwali Police Station in early hours on Wednesday.
Police recovered one USA-made pistol, six round bullets, one shutter gun, 5 cartridges and a magazine from their possession.
The arrestees were identified as Morshed alias Rashed, 28, Shahidul Islam Shurov, 21, Foizul Kabir Sujan and Jahidul Islam Raju, 24. A team of Detective Branch (DB) police arrested them from 4th floor of Comilla residential hotel in Andarkillah area of the port city while they were taking preparation to commit a robbery said DB assistant commissioner Ashif Mohiuddin. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, other robbers fled the scene. A case was filed with Kotwali Police Station in connection with the incident.
