The Awami League has given ‘special duties’ to four of the party leaders who have not been nominated to contest the election despite being members of paliament.
The leaders are-Awami League Joint
General Secretaries Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, Organisational Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim and BM Muzammel Haque.
They will perform important tasks to ensure the party wins a third consecutive election, said Organisational Secretary Khalid Mahmud.
“The four central leaders have been assigned on a special duty to observe the election process,” he told bdnews24.com.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called them over to the Ganabhaban and instructed them to continuously monitor all of the 300 seats. Also, they were asked to coordinate with everyone to ensure no rebel candidates ran in any of the seats.”
