4 abductors, victims rescued in Barisal

Detective branch of Barisal Metropolitan Police arrested four abductors including two private university students and rescued two videographers during collecting ransom on Wednesday night.
The nabbed four abductors were identified as Shah Imam Hossain, student of Stamford University and son of Emdad Ali Khan from Bilbilash, Shakib Hasan, student of Prime Asia University and son of Latif Matubbar of Voripasha, Siam alias Rajib, student of Barisal Polytechnic Institute and son of Alauddin Mia from Dhuliya under Baufal upazila of Patuakhali, Abid Al Amin, student of Barisal BRTC driving training school and son of late Abdur Rahman Haoladar from Karnakati of Sadar upazila Barisal.
The rescued two victims were Asif Kabir, son of Jahangir Kabir from Mohammadpur and Al-Amin Robin, son of Samidur Bhuiya from Narinda of Dhaka and videographers of Jafran Video owned by Afzal Azim at Baridhara of Dhaka. Shoyeb Ahmed, deputy commissioner (headquarter) BMP, said this in a press briefing on Wednesday late night.
Ataur Rahman, Kotwali Police Station officer in charge, said the arrested four abductors sent to court after interrogation and lodging case with this police station by Asif Kabir, one of the rescued victims as complainant on Thursday.
Azad Rahman, assistant commissioner of BMP detective branch, said Imam and Shakib on behalf of the arrested abduction gang contacted with the video shop for making video of a marriage ceremony at Baufal of Patuakhali.
The gang members paid Tk.5,000 as advance of contacted Tk 15,000 without transportation costing.
Accordingly two staffs of the video shop Kabir and Robin sent with the contacted gang members and they came Barisal by Parabat-2 launch with valuable equipments of videography including camera and lights. After disembarking from the launch at Barisal on Wednesday morning the gang members with the videographers boarded on a trawler to reach at the video spot.
The two other members of the gang added with them on the way and gang members roamed on different shoals from 6:00-10:00 AM Wednesday.
