The government has given cash incentive amounting Tk 568.86 crore as gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina among 4,85,476 farmers in order to mitigate their sufferings caused by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
The incentives were disbursed through cash, bkash and bank account of the farmers at a function held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital, said a press release.
Planning Minister MA Mannan was the chief guest at the programme with Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim in the chair.

Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu also participated in the programme virtually.
“If there is development in the agricultural sector, there will be overall development of the country… With the support of the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the last three years, production has increased in all sectors of agriculture,” Razzak said.
