4.5 lakh saplings to be planted by one hour in Raozan

A total of 4.5 lakh saplings will be planted within the jurisdiction of Raozan upazila in North Chittagong by one hour on July 25 next.
Mentionable that the local lawmaker and the chairman of the Parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Railway ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury has taken this programs of tree plantation earlier and in the meantime tree saplings have been collected from different parts of the country.
In this connection of mega programs of tree plantation, a preparatory meeting was held at Raozan Upazila Parishad hall on Thursday with UNO Shamim Hossain Reza in the chair.
The meeting was told that 4.5 lacs tree saplings will be planted by one hour within the areas of upazila through spontaneous participation of people of the upazila irrespective of caste and creed. It is learnt , UNO Shamim Hossain Reza arranged a series of meeting with the local representatives of 14 Unions and 9 wards of Raozan Pourasava in connection of plantation for the last two months and the last meeting was held at upazila conference hall.
The meeting was told that local legislator desires to turn the upazila into a green peace Upazila in near future. Earlier about 2 lakh saplings were planted in the upazila areas. Our Raozan correspondent Mir Aslam sources said these sapling will be planted in the premises of school , college, roads and highways and govt owned fallen lands and open spaces.
The plantation proigram will start at 11 am and will end at 12 noon on July 25 next. The plantation program will be inaugurated at Upazila premises through planting a sapling by the lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury , sources said .
Among others, Asstt. Commissioner of Land Junaid Kabir Sohag, Agri Officer Md. Belayet Hossain, Education officer Chowdhury Abdullah al Mamun, Cooperative Officer Mujibur Rahman Khan, Panel Mayor Bashiruddin Khan, councilor Jamiruddin Parvez, UP chairmen Abbasuddin, Bhupesh Barua, Shafiqul Islam, Nurul Absar Bashi, Jasimuddin Hiro were present in the meeting, our correspondent said.
