The two-day third “Dhaka Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd Golf Tournament -2016” kicked off here in the city on Saturday.The Dhaka Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd (DMCBL) has been sponsoring the tournament being organised by Rangpur Golf Club (RGC) at the Golf Ground of Rangpur Cantonment.
More than 100 contestants including males, females, junior and sub-junior golfers from different golf clubs of the country have been participating in the gents, ladies, junior and sub-junior groups of the tournament.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division, Rangpur Area Commander and President of RGC Major General Md. Masud Razzaque inaugurated the tournament through playing T-off shot after releasing balloons as the chief guest.
Chief Adviser and Vice-chairman of DMCBL Group Captain (Retd) Abu Jafar Chowdhury and its Director Major (Retd) Tareq, Bir Bikram, attended the inaugural ceremony.
High-ranking military officials, officials of Rangpur Golf Club, participating golfers and local journalists, were present, among others, in the ceremony.
