Banks, land office set afire: 3rd day of hartal passes off amid violence

Meanwhile, the 2nd-day of the hartal passed on Tuesday amid stray incidents, including arson attacks and explosions, in the capital and elsewhere in the country.
At least five vehicles were torched and 10 others vandalized during the hartal and ongoing blockade programmes, while more than 20 people received injuries, police and local sources said.
At least eight hand-bombs were recovered from near the Goran Eidgah at night. No one, however, was injured in the incident.
The miscreants exploded some crude bombs at Bangabazar in the morning.
Four persons received burn injuries. They are Rasel, Kakon, Anwar and Khandaker.
Meanwhile, at least two men received injuries in a cocktail blast at Fakirapool in the morning.
At Nababpur, two persons were injured in cocktail blast in the afternoon. At least two cocktails were recovered from Kakrail in the morning.
The miscreants exploded some crude bombs at Rampurabazar in the morning. At least three cocktails were exploded near Nayapaltan intersection.
In Chittagong, a bus was torched in front of Export Processing Zone (EPZ) gate No 2. Two persons received burn injuries in the incident. They were admittted to the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital immediately.
In Joypurhat, one passenger bus and a banana laden truck were torched at Khetlal upazila in the afternoon.
In Rajshahi, miscreants set the Charghat upazila land office ablaze early in the morning.
In Kishoreganj, a gang of unidentified miscreants hurled some petrol bombs at Agrani Bank in Chharkundi Bazaar under Hossinpur upazila in the early hours of the day. Another gang of miscreants also set a two-storied building ablaze in the same area, said our Kishoreganj Correspondent.
In Lakkhipur, a gang of miscreants hurled petrol bombs at the office of district fisheries officer early in the morning. In Gaibandha, at least two vehicles, including two auto-rickshaws, were torched in Sundarganj upazila in the district.
