38th founding anniv of The New Nation celebrated in Gouripur

The 38th founding anniversary of The New Nation, the oldest English daily of the country was celebrated at Gouripur Reporters Club in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh on Monday evening with the promise of objective journalism.
On the occasion, a discussion meeting was held at Gouripur Reporters’ Club in the town with Gouripur Upazila New Nation Correspondent and President of Gouripur Reporters Club Mohammad Raihan Uddin Sarker in the chair.
 Journalists, teachers, civil society members, politicians and socio-cultural activists attended the function. Former President of Gouripur Press Club and the Dailly Ittefaq Upazila Correspondent Md.Shafiqul Islam Mintu, Former General Secretary of Gouripur Press Club and the Dailly Jugantor Upazila Correspondent Md. Raish Uddin , former President of Gouripur Reporters Club Md Mujibor Rahman, former General Secretary of Gouripur Reporters Club Jahirul Huda Liton, Journalists Md. Rakibul Islam Rakib ( Daily Pratidiner Sangbad), Dilip Kumar Das ( Daily Nobo Kolyan), Sharif Ahmed ( News-71) , Md. Mohasin Mahmud, A.K.M Masudul Amin Masud, Abdul Latif and many others attended the function .The function was conducted by Md. Saidur Khan Abu Syed, General Secretary of Gouripur Reporters Club.
Former President of Gouripur Press Club and the daily Ittefaq Upazila Correspondent Md.Shafiqul Islam Mintu said, As the newspaper stepped into 39 years yesterday it had become the oldest English daily in the country and it had great tradition and fame.
After the discussion, club members along with other journalists and guests cut the cake on the occasion.
